Maintenance and Cleaning Instructions for FRP Fiberglass Planters
Planters in an Exterior Setting
Use the same cleaning and maintenance procedures that would apply to the exterior of a commercial building.
- Pressure washing with water to remove dust and dirt.
- Graffiti may require painting over. Try acetone or other paint-removing solvents after testing the solvent on an obscure area of the planter.
- Repaint with exterior building paint as often as the surrounding structures require or as desired.
- Smooth finished planters will need to be lightly sanded to remove any oils or waxy topical finishes in order for the paint to adhere properly.
Planters in an Interior Setting
Use the same cleaning and maintenance procedures that would apply to any interior site furnishings.
- Light vacuuming with a brush attachment should remove any dust and dirt.
- Heal marks or graffiti may require painting over, as above.
- Smooth finished planters will need to be lightly sanded to remove any oils or waxy topical finishes in order for the paint to adhere properly.
Normal use and service should require almost no attention for several years.
